I've heard that medicated oil also works. For stickers, you can use a hairdryer to heat them up and peel them off easily, but this is not suitable for plastics as overheating can deform them.

First, use the hairdryer to heat the stickers a few times, then peel off a small section, slowly peeling while continuing to heat it with the hairdryer. It works very well.

Industrially, thinner is used for wiping, which is very easy to remove.
